We cannot, in a message, write down everything there is to know about a specialty. You have carrier policies and procedures to learn. You need to know Medicare LCDs and Medicaid rules. Each is different.
I recently wrote a manual just for Massage Therapy Billing. It took me a month of research and then another month to put it all down on paper. It did not include what each carrier wanted because there are so many requirements. The book contains just the basics.
The same is for every specialty. There are books out there but nothing takes the place of hands-on training. Not knowing what to do can cause all sorts of problems with claims denials, claims in review, reduced revenue to the provider, huge extra administrative costs, and not to mention audits, fines, refund demands, and sanctions to now just the provider but to the biller as well.
